    We can’t give away what it is yet… You’ll have to follow the Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra to find out. Needless to say though that it’ll be spectacular!

    BoB & MICE

    After last year’s spectacular collaboration between Mount Isa Community Ensembles (MICE), Queensland Music Festival and BoB, we are back in 2020 with a symphonic brass workshop & concert followed by an outback outing with local jazz band Bandana, now all organised independently by the local music heroes we can’t wait to see and make music with again.

    Central Highlands Festival of Bands (7)

    The Central Highlands Festival of Bands is back in 2020, now co-organised by the newly incorporated Central Highlands Music Festival Inc. and BoB – Best of Brass.

    The featured instrument family this year is percussion, with Sonamus (Yuyan Wang and Shuili Peng) covering a lot more ground than in the previous years (twice the number of schools). Band conductor is the acclaimed Peter Morris.

    Townsville Brass and Percussion Festival (4)

    BoB is delighted to again be partnering with Townsville Brass for the fourth official Brass Band and Percussion Workshop. As previously, we expect to offer at least 3 different levels of workshops to cater for the brass students of Townsville, ranging from students and/or adults who have been playing for at least 12 months to students and/or adults with a high level of playing skills.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for North Queensland’s brass and percussion students to play together in a non-competitive environment and to be mentored by the members of BoB. It is also an opportunity for students and adults to see what is available in the local community music organisations, and in particular, Townsville Brass.
